Nixon's show goes on

Nixon won't shut up, and he wants everything on the record. He has long finished his own recollections, confessions, and defense. Now he is editorializing, with relish, on other matters. He never did learn to leave his audience just short of sated, so they'd have reason to return the following night. No, Nixon does not relinquish the floor until he has brought down the house. He leaves no stone unturned, no collar unwilted.

This has been the scheme of things since Nixon stole the show.
