Inside joke

Always at high noon, the Starbucks on Worth and Lafayette is shuttered against the sunlight. Nixon sits in the park with his homemade lunch and smothers in a smile on account of it. Each time he notices the blinds, it's like an inside joke, and he can't explain why.
