And now something completely different

From New Zealand, my man Hobbs sent me a card with a kiwi bird. "Like you," she wrote, "kiwis are extremely industrious, mate for life, and can barely see."

The last time I visited her in Charlottesville, she shook her head in disbelief at my red Mary Janes. "How are you going to climb the mountain in those?" she demanded. I shrugged. I climbed the mountain. "See?" I said. "Sure," she said. "That's because we took the easier mountain. If you had proper shoes, we would've took the harder one."
